Brampton Master Ensuite Renovation

A Better Use of Space
This Brampton renovation was part of a larger home improvement journey, with the homeowner choosing to begin at the top of the house by upgrading the master ensuite first. The original bathroom was approximately 8 by 10 feet and featured a traditional 4-piece layout with a separate tub, shower, long vanity, and toilet.
Since there was already another bathtub in the home, the homeowner saw an opportunity to make this space more purposeful. Rather than keeping a layout that felt dated and crowded, the goal was to create a brighter, more open ensuite designed around comfort, simplicity, and everyday use.
Designed Around Natural Light
One of the strongest features of this bathroom was its large window, approximately 5 by 4 feet. That natural light became a major part of the new design direction.
By opening up the room and removing the visual weight of the old layout, the finished bathroom now feels much lighter and more spacious. The final design allows sunlight to travel more naturally through the room, helping create a cleaner and more relaxing atmosphere.
A Curbless Shower with a Custom Feel
The new shower became the focal point of the renovation. Built at just over 4 by 4 feet, it was designed as a curbless walk-in shower with a glass enclosure to maintain openness throughout the room.
The shower included an envelope-style floor design, a built-in wall niche, and a Schluter center drain for a clean and professional finish. One of the standout details was the recessed glass panel installation at the floor. This allowed the glass to be integrated cleanly without visible fasteners at the bottom, creating a far more seamless and elevated finished appearance.
Custom Vanity and Improved Layout
To complement the shower and make better use of the room, the vanity was redesigned as a custom-built feature stretching close to 8 feet in length. It included double sinks and a dedicated makeup station in the center, with space for a chair to tuck in neatly below.
The toilet was also repositioned into the corner so it would be less visible upon entering the room. With the vanity naturally helping block the view, the layout achieved the exact sense of privacy and visual flow the homeowner wanted.
Clean Finishes and Meaningful Upgrades
The material palette was kept simple and effective. Two tile finishes were used throughout the space: a darker tile for the floor and a lighter contrasting white-grey tile for the walls. This approach created consistency while still giving the room contrast and depth.
To complete the renovation, the lighting was upgraded with new pot lights and a new bathroom fan was installed. Much of the existing plumbing was strategically maintained where possible, allowing the renovation to stay efficient while still delivering a major visual and functional upgrade.
Part of a Larger Home Renovation Story
This project was not just about renovating one bathroom. It marked the beginning of a broader transformation throughout the home, with the homeowner later continuing updates across the upper and main floor.
Starting with the master ensuite helped establish the tone for the rest of the renovation: bright, modern, practical, and thoughtfully built. The finished result is a master bathroom that feels custom, comfortable, and far more aligned with how the homeowner wanted to live in the space.
